My Daily Routine

In Morning:

• Wake up and brush teeth.
• Take a shower.
• Eat a healthy breakfast and drink a glass of milk.
• Get ready for school.
• Attend classes and learn new things.
• Wash hands with soap before lunch. Eat tiffin during lunch break and drink water.
• Play with friends during recess.

In Afternoon:

• Come home, wash hands with soap and have a lunch, rinse the mouth.
• Take some rest.
• Do homework or read a book.

In Evening:

• Play outside with friends.
• Come home, wash hands and drink water.
• Eat healthy dinner with family.
• Play a board game or share stories of the day with family.

In Night:

• Brush teeth.
• Go to bed to get enough sleep.

My grandparents used to use reetha (soapnut) and shikakai for bathing and washing hair. They used soapnut for washing clothes and datun for cleaning their teeth, when they were young. Yes, these things can be found now.

Playing Safely (Page 117)

It is important to be safe while having fun. Which of the following places is considered a safe area to play? Why or why not?

Answer:
A busy road

Playing on the road can lead to serious injuries by getting hit by vehicles passing by continuously. So, it is unsafe to play on busy road.

A Park

Park is safe area to play. It has fencing, gates, boundaries and playground equipment like swings and slide.

A school ground

A schoolground is safe area to play. We can run around and play without worrying about bumping into things. So, it is safe to play in school ground.

A roof without railings

It is unsafe because while playing or running due to the absence of railings, we can fall down and get seriously injured. So, it is unsafe to play at a roof without railing.

A construction site

It is unsafe because there is a risk of injury from construction materials and machines.

A. Write

Make your weekly health table.
What makes you feel sleepy, hungry or tired? Feelings are the body’s way of telling us that something is amiss. We all have different needs. We should each know what is good for our body and mind. For this, track your activities for a week and observe how you feel.

B. Draw

Draw a big circle in your notebook and divide it into 24 slices. Imagine that each slice is one hour of the day. Now colour these slices differently based on the number of hours you spend doing different activities in one entire day of 24 hours.
For example, Moyna spends 8 hours sleeping, 2 hours eating, 6 hours in school or studying at home, 2 hours playing outside, 2 hours helping her parents at home, 1 hour watching TV or playing on the phone, 1 hour in the toilet and 2 hours on other activities. This is what Moyna’s circle looked like.

C. Discuss
